RACING EXPERIENCE WITH FRONT-ROW START AND IMPORTANT POINTS IN SECOND ROUND OF THE ADAC PROTOTYPE CUP GERMANY

Tuesday, 19th July 2022, Nürburgring, Germany

With achieving their best qualifying position in P2 in the ADAC Prototype Cup Germany, Racing Experience takes important points home from a P4 and P6 position in the second round of the championship last weekend.

The meeting, held during the Truck GP with nearly 100.000 visitors, started with the Free Practice Sessions on Friday where drivers Gary Hauser and Sebastian von Gartzen directly showed their pace in the competitive field of teams and drivers, who also compete in the highest european championships like the Michelin Le Mans Cup or the European Le Mans Series.

In the first Qualifying on Saturday Morning, it was Gary Hauser’s job to place the car in a good position for the start for Race 1 on Saturday Afternoon. Having led the session at the start, it was only P7 for him, as Gary could not improve his time on a strongly improving track due to traffic.

During an incident-packed Race 1 and a strong stint of Gary, he handed over the car to Sebastian who was driving in P3 after the pitstop window closing. An unlucky incident in the last lap on track forced them to give up third position, finishing P4.

On Sunday Morning Sebastian was in the car for Q2. Having learnt from the track improvement in Q1, the team sent the car out later than the day before, which enabled Sebastian to place the car on P2 and hence a very promising first front-row start of the season.

The pressure was on for Sebastian’s start in Race 2, when he could not hold the position, falling back to P5 on the first lap. Caught in a pack of cars, an unfortunate race incident put Sebastian back into sixth’ position that Gary was able to hold until the end of the race.

Christian Hauser, Team Owner Racing Experience, said, “What a weekend it was. Since Friday both drivers and the team showed their high experience and performance which was rewarded with Sebastian’s P2 in Q2. We were also so close to finish on the podium in Race 1, but that’s racing. The team definitely deserves it and I am sure next time it’s for us!”

Gary Hauser, Racing Experience driver, said, “It was so great to be back at the Nürburgring after my last time 10 years ago in Formula 3. The car was amazing to drive thanks to the hard work of the team and P4 and P6 are strong positions in this high competitive field – nevertheless we can and want more! I am looking forward to the next race on the Lausitzring in August!”

Sebastian Von Gartzen, Racing Experience driver, said, “It was an up and down this weekend. Having been so close to the podium in Race 1, it was a little bit frustrating to finish only in P4. But the next day started brilliantly, as I was able to put the car on second place in Qualifying. We were unlucky in Race 2, but we are for sure aiming for more next time! Thanks to the team for their hard work!”
