RACING EXPERIENCE ENTERS THE PRESTIGIOUS EUROPEAN LE MANS SERIES 2021

Friday 19th February 2021, Luxembourg

The Racing Experience team is delighted to announce their selection into the famous European Le Mans Series (ELMS) championship for this 2021 season.

Last Friday, the entry list was officially published. In total, the field will consist of forty-three cars. The Duqueine D08 of Racing Experience with the number 12 will join the adventure in the LMP3 class where it will have to fight with sixteen other competitors. The championship will feature six race events throughout Europe. The team knows most of the circuits from their Michelin Le Mans Cup campaigns in 2019 and 2020, apart from the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

The final driver line-up will be confirmed very soon, but for the first time since 2017, brothers David and Gary Hauser, together with a third driver, will share again the same car during all the events of this season.

Another big announcement is the revelation of Racing Experience’s new Managing Director: David Hauser. He took the decision to focus 100% on the team and to follow in the footsteps of this father Christian who remains team owner and a highly experienced and important member.

Christian Hauser, Racing Experience Team Owner: “Last year’s season in the Michelin Le Mans Cup did not entirely reflect the strengths and competences of our team and despite our efforts and also some very positive qualifying results and strong race performance, it did not all go to plan. Our aim is to change the situation this year and a lot has therefore happened over the winter. We have therefore submitted our application for the European Championship [ELMS] and were delighted when we saw our team on the entry list last Friday. We are eager to start the season!

I am proud that David [Hauser] will take over the role of our Managing Director. He knows the team since it has all started back in 2000. He has grown up with it and invested a lot of time in the development, but also in technical improvements thanks to his double-master degree in mechanical engineering. There is no better person for this position and I have complete confidence in him !

David Hauser, Racing Experience Managing Director and Driver:What a start of the year this is! I feel extremely grateful for the opportunity to work full-time for Racing Experience. It’s a great challenge for me and there will be an incredible workload, but I will give it everything I have! From the driver perspective, participating in the ELMS championship is a dream come true. The level of competition is extremely high and the races will now last four hours instead of two [like in the Michelin Le Mans Cup]. The strategy will play a crucial role. I cannot wait to get back behind the wheel.”

Gary Hauser, Racing Experience Driver: “I am very happy to drive this season in the ELMS championship and to share the car with my brother. I am looking forward to some great driving action! We definitely have our say. To drive together with slower GT3 cars, but also with the faster LMP2 cars will be a challenge, but I am generally very confident for the season.”

The Racing Experience team will now focus on some winter tests before the official season opener at the famous Barcelona circuit in Spain. Two official testdays are scheduled at the beginning of the race week. The race itself will then take place on Sunday, 18th April, afternoon.
