RACING EXPERIENCE GEARS UP FOR SEASON 2022
Sunday, 17th April 2022, Wormeldange-Haut, Luxembourg
Luxembourg-based Team Racing Experience is preparing for the first season in the ADAC Prototype Cup Germany.
A season, featuring four race weekends with two one-hour races each, will go underway for the first round this weekend at the legendary Circuit Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium).
The family-run outfit is looking back to a full-packed season in the highest league of LMP3-Racing, the European Le Mans Series 2021, where they gathered professional and valuable experience to profit from in the new ACO-licensed german championship in 2022.
With more than 40 years’ experience in both hillclimb and circuit racing, the third-generation racing family will field one of their two Duqueine D08 LMP3, powered by a Nissan V8 Engine.
This year it is not only a changement in the season plans, but also in the driver-line-up, as David, who raced always alongside his brother, has stepped back this year to face a new family challenge with his new born son. Nevertheless he will be supporting the team as the team manager as well as engineer.
Gary Hauser will share his long-time experience with Sebastian Von Gartzen, who will, after several years of GT-Racing, race for his first time in a prototype car.
After a first test on a local race circuit, Sebastian and Gary will start to work on their performance on Wednesday, for the first official testday of the ADAC Prototype Cup Germany.
In addition to the European Le Mans Series and the Michelin Le Mans Cup, the ADAC Prototype Cup Germany showcases for the first year in 2022 a german high-level complement to the well-known championships, where Racing Experience will demonstrate their professional presence.
Christian Hauser, Team Owner Racing Experience: “The new program for the 2022 season is finally set and holds many changes in store. The fact that David is taking a step back this year is challenging, because Gary has to pass on all his expertise to a driver who has not yet contested any races in LMP3. The aim is to get Sebastian to the right pace and consistency professionally and quickly. But with the first test in LMP3, Sebastian has already proved that he can keep up at this high level!”
Sebastian Von Gartzen, Driver Racing Experience: “I’m very happy to be racing with Christian Hauser’s family team Racing Experience this year. We spoke on the phone for the first time two weeks ago and I was immediately convinced by the experience and the team atmosphere! With Gary I have a fast and experienced team-mate, so I am sure that we can compete for top positions. For me, the first thing is to approach the limits of the LMP3 step by step. The strong downforce and the high corner speeds in particular are new to me, and I’ll have to get used to them.”
Gary Hauser, Racing Experience Driver: “Spa-Francorchamps is one of my absolute favorite circuits, where I also drove my very first race. So the season couldn’t get off to a better start. In Sebastian I have got a strong team-mate who has already gained valuable experience in GT racing in recent years. In LMP3 he still has to feel his way around a bit, but here I am sure he will learn very quickly how to handle the car. I am looking forward to the season and I am sure that with Sebastian we will have a competitive driver line-up that can compete for the top positions.”
The first day of testing will take place on Wednesday 20th April 2022, the race weekend will start officially on Friday, 22th April 2022, with the two qualifying sessions, the first race will be held on Saturday (10:05h CET) and the second race on Sunday (10:10h CET).
In addition to competing in the ADAC Prototype Cup, Racing Experience will also participate in the GT & Prototype Challenge 2022.
