05-2012 – Hillrace Eschdorf (LU), David’s first hillclimb victory
The first weekend of May is always the date of the Hillrace Eschdorf taking place in Eschdorf. Difficult weather conditions just before the start of the first race run made the tire decision difficult. One minute before the start, Racing Experience decided to change from intermediates to slick tires even though there were still some wet patches in the wood. His hardest opponent, Swiss hillclimb champion Marcel Steiner on an Osella FA30 followed this change, but was about 0.5 seconds slower than David. It was a very emotional race for David and his father Christian, because David managed to win the race and it was 10 years after the last luxembourgish victory here... achieved by Christian in 2002.
