RACING EXPERIENCE WINS TEAM AND DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP IN ADAC PROTOTYPE CUP GERMANY 2023

Last weekend the last round of the of the Prototype Cup Germany took place on the mythic GP layout of the Nürburgring. Racing Experience already secured the drivers’ title in the previous round in Assen, but was still in the fight to catch the team title.
Racing Experience entered again two Duqueine D08 LMP3, #15 with the championship winners Gary Hauser and Markus Pommer and the #12 car of bronze driver Wolfgang Payr and David Hauser.
On a sunny friday, all appeared to be a perfect weekend for the #15 car, as Gary and Markus finished both free practice sessions on the top of the timing sheets.
On Saturday morning, the weather changed and Markus had to qualify the car in rainy conditions. In an impressive outing, Markus was able to put the car on P1, more than 2 seconds ahead of their competitors. David qualified the #12 car in P6.
Taking the start in Race 1, Markus was a little bit too late on the brakes, which costs him the lead, but he managed to stay second. After the pitstop and the obligatory driver change, Gary came out in P2 and overtook the leader two laps later. The #15 car brought the car home in P1 and they secured the fourth win of the season.
Wolfgang Payr and David Hauser finished the race in P14.
On Sunday Gary was in the car for the second qualifying that should determine the grid for race 2. In very cold conditions with 2 degrees Celsius in the morning, Gary qualified the car #15 in P6.
Wolfgang qualified car #12 in P15.
The start of race 2 took place on sunday afternoon in mixed conditions, as the rain started just one hour before the official session. Being stuck behind slower cars and without taking unnecessary risks for the team championship, car #15 finished the race in P10, car #12 in P13.
At the end of the 2023 ADAC Prototype Cup Germany season, the luxembourgish team Racing Experience was able to secure the title in the Team Championship, as well as in the Drivers Championship. Wolfgang Payr is vice champion in the trophy championship of all bronze drivers.
Thanks to every team member and flawlessly working cars without technical problems, Racing Experience wrote history in LMP3 racing against well-known competitors that already won the championships on european level.
