RACING EXPERIENCE WITH DOUBLE COMMITMENT IN SEASON 2022

Sunday, 08th May 2022, Wormeldange-Haut, Luxembourg

After scoring two P5 results in the first meeting of the ADAC Prototype Cup Germany, Racing Experience releases his second commitment for this season in the GT & Prototype Challenge.

The season features six race weekends on well-known circuits in Belgium, Netherlands and Germany with two one-hour races each and will go underway for the first round next weekend at the Hockenheimring, Germany.

The family-run outfit is looking back to a full-packed season in the highest league of LMP3-Racing, the European Le Mans Series 2021, where they gathered professional and valuable experience to profit from in this years’ double program. Having won the GT & Prototype Challenge in 2017, Racing Experience is up to build on this success in 2022.

With more than 40 years’ experience in both hillclimb and circuit racing, the third-generation racing family will field one of their LMP3 cars, powered by a Nissan V8 Engine.

This year it is not only a changement in the season plans, but also a challenge in the driver-line-up, as Lea Mauer, who will compete for her first time in a race car, will share the car with her husband Gary.

After a promising first test on a local race circuit, Lea and Gary will start to work on their performance on Friday morning, for the two official testdays of the GT & Prototype Challenge before the qualifying will start on Friday afternoon.

The GT & Prototype Challenge showcases a perfect entry-level program, where Racing Experience will once again show their potential and overall team knowledge. This commitment will be a great preparation to allow Lea gaining experience and developing to a higher and professional level over the year.

Christian Hauser, Team Owner Racing Experience: “The new program for the 2022 season is really a full-packed and challenging program for us. Gary will this year operate as a driver coach and will pass all his expertise to new and less experienced drivers. He already showed his skills with Sebastian in the ADAC Prototype Cup and now he has to do that even more with Lea, who always supported us as an engineer at the race tracks, but has only little experience behind the wheel. She made strong improvements during her strict preparation on our own high-professional ElektraX simulator and her first test in a real race car was very promising for us. I think she can quickly adapt to these new circumstances – we are very looking forward to this new challenge!”

Lea Mauer, Driver Racing Experience: “I am more than ready for this new challenge and I can‘t tell you how happy I am to have this opportunity. I am fully concentrated on this project and I am preparing strictly on the team’s simulator with data analysis. Having been with the team during the last seasons, it was always my dream to step behind the wheel. In my first test in the LMP3 a few weeks ago I already learned a lot of things and I am eager to improve even more. Thanks to the team for their trust in me, I will do my best to prove it this season!

Gary Hauser, Racing Experience Driver: “I am super excited to face this second challenge in 2022. I will support Lea with my experience in the best way possible, but I am sure that she will get to speed very rapidly. She already showed her talent when we competed in endurance simraces together where we had really good results, now it’s the real experience on track that matters.“

The two free practices will take place on Friday morning 13th May 2022, the qualifying on Friday afternoon. The first race will be held on Saturday and the second race on Sunday (both at 12:00 CET).
