Racing Experience gears up for second Michelin Le Mans Cup campaign
Luxembourg-based team Racing Experience is preparing for its second season in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
Featuring six rounds at iconic European race tracks, the 2020 season will get underway this weekend at Le Castellet (Circuit Paul Ricard) in the south of France, as the racing world returns to the track in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The family-run outfit will look forward to returning to Le Castellet following last year’s season opener where the team secured a fourth position finish on their debut in the championship.
With more than 40 years’ experience in both hillclimb and circuit racing, the third-generation racing family led by Christian Hauser looks to build on their successful first campaign. They will field a new Duqueine D-08 LMP3 car powered by Nissan V8 engine this season, as the championship introduces new rules for the LMP3 category for 2020.
Hauser brothers Gary and David will once again alternate throughout the season as the team’s silver driver, with compatriot Yury Wagner making his Le Mans Cup debut as the team’s bronze entry.
Gary and Yury will line up for the first race, among a grid of 31 confirmed entries. Wagner will get his first taste of the no. 11 Racing Experience car at the Collective Test today to prepare for his first outing in one of the most competitive categories he has experienced.

While it has been a long wait to get started, we are grateful to the championship for doing what is necessary to ensure that we could go racing safely. We really enjoyed our first season in the Michelin Le Mans Cup and look forward to more great racing and hopefully lots to celebrate.”
Gary Hauser, Racing Experience driver said: “I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel this weekend after such a long break. Last season, we had some great racing and some wheel-to-wheel battles right to the finish line. In this championship, if you have a clean race, you can get a great result, which is important for us as a small team. The focus will be on minimising errors, staying out of trouble and racing hard. I feel good in the car and looking forward to getting more time on track in today’s test. Yury is a very talented team mate and I’m looking forward to our first race together.”
Yury Wagner, Racing Experience driver said: “I’m looking forward to my first race in this championship. There is a lot to learn but everyone in the team is working hard to get me up to speed quickly ahead of the first race. There is a real family atmosphere at Racing Experience and I hope that I can deliver a strong first race and start this season off with a great result.”
The six rounds of the Michelin Le Mans Championship include the team’s home race at Spa-Francorchamps and the double-header Race to Le Mans event – the curtain-raiser of the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
Race one of the championship starts at 16:30 local time.
